Personality: When Allison first arrived in Beacon Hills, she seemed like a quiet, shy sort of girl meant to be the love interest for Scott McCall. She quickly became so much more than that though.
Allison constantly struggles between her head and her heart. She is passionate, strong-willed, and typically has a good heart but she’s ruled by fear as well. She fears what most teenage girls fear like not fitting in and not having a boyfriend but it’s more than that. She fears that she won’t be strong or powerful enough, especially when her world is rocked by the revelation that werewolves are real and her family consists of being werewolf hunters. The truth shakes her to her core, leaving her to feel vulnerable as she struggles with the truth of her family and the boy she is falling in love with.
Because of this fear, she throws herself into her training and sometimes puts as much pressure on herself as her family does. She works hard at archery and practicing to fight. She pushes herself to be better all the time and eventually does the same to her family after the loss of her mother and the betrayal of her grandfather. Eventually, she decides that they will stop hunting those that hunt them and start protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
The change of the code is definitely a good sign of Allison’s compassion for others. It's also a way for her to keep herself in check and to make up for the things she did while under her grandfather's influence. Namely how she had hunted Derek Hale's pack out of a desire for revenge over her mother's death.
As she continues to grow up, Allison gains more confidence in all aspects of her life. She becomes more confident in her social interactions, her friendships, and her hunting. She is also the first one to figure out how to defeat the Oni though that accomplishment comes with a price: her life.
